Give Hope to Those in Need of It

Our Mission

Believing in the inherent dignity and enormous potential of every human being, My Vision for Refugees strives to provide former refugees and orphans with opportunities for healing, growth and full participation in society. We do this through the provision of basic human needs, trauma informed care and opportunities for a quality education.

My Vision for Refugees, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) organization that gives hope and a chance at a legitimate future to former refugees, orphans and vulnerable children who need help in Guinea, West Africa. Our first orphanage, Home of Hope, opened in 2015 in N’zerekore, Guinea.

Sam’s Story

Sam Johnson’s journey from surviving eight years as a refugee in the U.N. camp at Nzérékoré, Guinea, to earning four degrees in the United States is a story of resilience and hope. Now the founder of Home of Hope, he is dedicated to giving vulnerable children the same chance at safety, education, and a brighter future that once transformed his own life.

Home of Hope

Our orphanage is a place of hope and healing, dedicated to providing education, stability, healthcare, nutritious meals, and emotional support to 20 orphans and vulnerable children who were in great need. Today, these children are thriving in a safe and nurturing home where they receive consistent care, regular meals, medical attention, and the guidance of a full-time house mother supported by a loving staff.

Our Programs

Education is at the very heart of My Vision for Refugees’ mission, because we believe it is the foundation for lasting change and a brighter future. Beyond the classroom, we are committed to meeting the essential needs of each child and family we serve by providing nourishing meals, safe and stable shelter, access to clean drinking water, and opportunities for personal growth. In addition, we offer emotional support, mentorship, and practical resources that help restore dignity and open doors for a hopeful tomorrow.

“Hope can take you anywhere in life. We change the world one loving act at a time.”

— Samuel Johnson
